Life Reflections of Arthur (Sonny) Lee Atlas Sr. Arthur (Sonny) Lee Atlas Sr. was born to Georgia M. Wells on December 17,1942 in Helena, Arkansas. He was the oldest child of seven. He was raised by his Grandparents Reedie and Georgia Winston. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, his grandson Lawrence Atlas Jr., his brother Ricky Wells and his mother Georgia Wells. Sonny or Sonny Boy as he was affectionately referred as was educated in the Arkansas Public School District, while spending his summers visiting his mom and siblings in St. Louis, Missouri. He graduated from Lakeview High School in 1961 after graduating, Arthur joined the Army after serving his term and years later, Arthur joined the National Guard. During his time in the military he was a MP and a Dental Tech. After serving in the military Arthur moved to St. Louis, MO where he met Lillie Clara while she was visiting family in St. Louis, MO. After that faithful meeting you can say it was love at first sight the two were married on December 17, 1968. This date was extra special because it was Arthur’s birthday.Their union lasted 56 glorious years. During his lifetime he worked in different fields, State of Missouri, The Unemployment Office, St. Louis Army Ammunition Plant (making ammunition for the Army), Security Officer, and ultimately ending his career working and finally retiring as a Certified Medical Technician. Everywhere Arthur went he made a friend. He was a voracious reader his favorite genre is Science Fiction. His favorite TV channels were MSNBC, The History Channel, Animal Plant, National Geographic, The Weather Channel, and lover of scary movies and sports. His favorite football team was the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was a walking book of knowledge. He had some of the best stories to tell too. One thing for sure, you did not want to get into a long conversation about politics or any current event with Arthur, or you’d be talking for days. He loved his grandchildren, and always gave them pearls of wisdom when they visited. They were his lifeline. Arthur (Sonny) leaves behind lots of laughs, and memories to last many lifetimes and stories to be shared to each generation hereafter. Arthur (Sonny) Atlas Sr. leaves behind his beautiful wife, Lillie Clara Atlas, his 2 sons Lawrence (Michelle) Atlas, Arthur Atlas Jr, daughter Sharon Atlas. Brother Gregory Wells (Demetric), 4 sisters Betty Burgess, Debra Wells, Peggy Wells (Mike), and Patricia Wells. Grandchildren Martika Atlas, Letti Tinnon, Aiceanna Baker, Marquis Atlas, Allison (Sher-Ron) Westbrook Jr., Larenze Atlas, Craig (Crystal) Talbert, Anika Hanson, Acacia Atlas, Alessandria Atlas, Klara Atlas, LaDainian Atlas, Great- grandchildren Akim, Tiana, Adya, Demetrius Jr.,Marquis Jr. Brett, Autumn, Jac, Savannah, Maverick, and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and Friends.
